Flagstone is sedimentary stone that is generally 3" thick or less. This stone is perfect for step stones, pathways, patios, pool coping, window sills, caps, and even driveways. Flagstone is palletized according to thickness. 1" minus, 1 1/2", 2" 2 1/2", and 3". The 1" minus should only be used over a concrete sub-base and the 1 1/2" should be layed on very compact soil or gravel. The 2"-3" is great when laying step stones or a dry laid patio. We recommend using at least a 3" stone when considering a driveway or parking area. There are many colors and sizes of flagstone. Select pieces are stood upright on a pallet for shipping purposes, slabs are 1 piece per layer on a 3'x4' pallet, patio or steppers are smaller pieces usually 4-7 per layer.
